Wilson Xie from St. Paul’s School in Concord, New Hampshire

Hi, I am Wilson, a sophomore at St. Paul’s School in Concord, New Hampshire, who loves to row, play pool with my friends, and gaze up at the stars. Growing up, I was passionate about sharing what I learned with others, and to successfully share my thoughts, I luckily found my two tools—art and writing. I started learning art in elementary school and have used various mediums like sculpture, painting, and digital art. I also quickly found my passion for writing, portraying ideas with writing styles like screenwriting, poems, and analytical writing. Although the things that I try to share vary from drawing traditional Chinese vases for cultural awareness to writing a psychology paper, I remained constant throughout my years in promoting environmental awareness and action. I have made an art portfolio on the intricate relationships between humans and nature, and I have written various writings to encourage awareness and action to preserve today’s endangered planet. As my main takeaway during my speech at COP28’s China Pavilion, all environmental actions count—no matter how small (recycling)—because when everyone starts doing it, the impact eventually multiplies.
