GYP Youth Humanitarian Film Festival 2025, 2026

Key Dates

  • 2025 GYP Film Festival Testing Launch:
    • Submission Deadline: October 15, 2025
      Entry Fee: Free
      Official Selections Announced: October 31, 2025 (on the GYP website)
      Festival Dates: November 1–15, 2025
  • 2026 GYP Film Festival Official Launch :
    • Submission Deadlines & Entry Fees
    • Submissions Open: Saturday, November 1, 2025
    • Free Submission Deadline: Sunday, March 1, 2026 – No entry fee
    • Regular Submission Deadline: Tuesday, June 30, 2026 – $10.00
    • Late Submission Deadline: Friday, July 31, 2026 – $20.00
  • October 2026 – full international showcase and events

If you plan to participate in the 2025 GYP Youth Humanitarian Film Festival but have not yet completed your film, please register early by emailing us at info@globalyouthphilanthropy.org.

Youth Humanitarian Film Producation Guides

📌 Content Guidelines

  • All music, images, titles, footage, and other copyrighted materials used in your submission must be properly licensed.
  • You must have permission or the appropriate rights to all content in your film.
  • Any submission that does not meet these guidelines will not be considered for judging or screening.

🎯 Suggested Themes

You may submit a film based on any humanitarian subject, but we especially encourage the following themes:

  • Refugee and Migrant Voices
  • Mental Health in Crisis
  • Digital Tools for Good
  • Climate & Resilience
  • Bridging Cultures Through Humanitarian Collaboration

👥 Who Can Submit?

  • Senior Division: Youth aged 18–25
  • Junior Division: Youth aged 13–17

🎞️ Film Categories

Each submission must be under 15 minutes in total runtime:

  • Short Documentary
  • Creative Storytelling (fiction with a humanitarian theme)
  • Animation / Experimental

🌍 Language & Subtitles

  • Films may be in any language.
  • If your film contains dialogue not in English, it must include English subtitles embedded in the video (not as a separate .srt file).
  • Standalone subtitle files will not be accepted.

🗂️ Submission Requirements

  • Total runtime (TRT) must not exceed 10 minutes.
  • Do NOT submit YouTube or Vimeo links — we cannot accept streaming links for screening or selection.
  • Accepted file formats:
    • .MP4
    • .MOV

Please make sure your final film follows all technical and content guidelines. Submissions that do not comply will not be reviewed.
